A Wednesday evening on a warm summer night in the heart of Chicago. Suddenly the city erupts with the sound of a 65-piece orchestra doing sonic battle with a 30-piece performance art marching band. This could only be Chicago Sinfonietta joined by Mucca Pazza at Millennium Park. And this is the only way the city’s hippest orchestra kicks off its 30th Anniversary Season. Hear us play the first work we ever performed as an orchestra back in 1987. Marvel at Chris Brubeck’s Interplay for Three Violins featuring the spectacular young violinst Adé Williams alongside famed Celtic violinist Liz Carroll and our own James Sanders. Plus, get ready for a rematch as we stage another “battle of the bands” with our friends Mucca Pazza to the tune of Prokofiev’s Romeo & Juliet and then close the show with not just one but FOUR grand finales. Go big or go home, right?
