Take an introspective journey through the world of visual art, with music as your guide! Sight + Sound features a world-premiere commission from composer Courtney Bryan created for “fearless violinist” Jennifer Koh. This work, Syzygy, celebrates artists Frida Kahlo, Maya Lin, and Alma Thomas and their cultural contributions to society.

From the concert-opening work, Finding Rothko, to Bryan's Syzygy, to Ravel’s Pictures at an Exhibition, this performance will meld symphonic color with tributes to the world’s most groundbreaking artists in a visceral celebration of the senses. The program closes with Pictures at an Exhibition: a grand and majestic finale rivaled only by the works of art it describes!

Plus, get creative with us pre-show and during intermission with BRIDGE audience engagement sponsored by Macy’s! Make your own masterpiece, with an interactive exhibit from DuPage Children’s Museum, explore how violins are created with The Chicago School of Violin Making and capture memories with FOTIO!
