Performance. Art.

When was the last time an orchestra made you want to dance in your seat? Our season opener could do just that when we mix motion with emotion, to create an irresistible feast for the senses. Eclectic textures of rhythm and melody combine with virtuosic playing and a whirlwind of movement to capture your imagination and soul.

Music Director Mei-Ann Chen kicks off her second season leading the Chicago Sinfonietta with the same energy and passion that won her the League of American Orchestra’s Helen M. Thompson Award in 2012. The orchestra will be joined by the Brooklyn-based high energy chamber group PROJECT Trio, whose blend of classical technique with jazz and rock styles is shaking up the chamber music scene. The rhythmic virtuosity of our guests Eric Goldberg and Shuya Gong will amaze and delight you. Finally, Stravinsky’s exhilarating masterwork will leave you breathless.
