The Chicago Sinfonietta invites you to participate in one of the many volunteer opportunities available throughout the year. Please contact Aidan Kranz at (312) 236.3681 ext 1552 if you are interested in volunteering.
"Sometimes we forget the things that we can do to make a difference in the world. It’s not a small act to open a door, pass out a program book, and smile at a stranger. These simple actions make a large impact within a community. With this experience, you are leaving a mark. Come join us. Volunteer at the Sinfonietta.” - Aidan Kranz, Chicago Sinfonietta Box Office Manager
The CS grabs you right away – it is a wonderful orchestra with a powerful, successful mission.
The volunteers are just as dynamic and diverse as the orchestra and staff. Everyone was friendly and eager.
I was so happy to join the big event of Chicago Sinfonietta, and it would be unforgettable moment.
I was so happy volunteer for Chicago Sinfonietta's Ball 2016, and it will always be an unforgettable moment.
Chicago Sinfonietta is a unique organization in that is both artistically innovative and socially conscious. Beyond that, the people the organization attracts are eclectic, passionate and fun (so you’ll be in good company!) While the work we put on stage is often larger-than-life, we are a relatively small organization so serving 2,000+ audience members in one evening is a challenge without lots of helping hands!
Our volunteers become an extension of our unique customer experience. We truly value their contribution of time and energy and we try to make the volunteering experience fun and rewarding in every way we can!
Volunteers do a variety of tasks at our concerts. This may include putting inserts into program books, distributing program books, assisting our Box Office with distributing tickets, ushering, assisting during our Audience Engagement activities and selling raffle tickets. We promise that it’s all fun!
Chicago Sinfonietta volunteers should wear all black, business casual attire. Volunteer badges will be given out upon arrival to the venue by a Sinfonietta staff member.
Volunteers are asked to arrive 45 minutes before the concert begins. Unless there’s a unique activity taking place, volunteers generally leave right after the concert ends. Chicago Sinfonietta concerts are generally 2 hours long and this includes a 20 minute intermission.
Yes! We encourage volunteers to watch the concert and provide 1 complimentary ticket for each volunteer for the concert they are working at.
As a bonus, volunteers receive 2 complimentary tickets to a regular season Sinfonietta concert of their choosing* at which they are NOT working to just come and enjoy an evening of music on us as a thank you.
(*Pending availability – not eligible for sold out performances.)
The more the merrier! If you know someone who would like to come with you and also volunteer, just let us know.
If you have any other questions, comments and/or concerns, feel free to email our Box Office Manager, Jessica Estelle Huggins
