Chicago Sinfonietta closes out the 2014-15 season with a symphonic and multimedia tribute to the men and women of the armed forces. WYCC will film this emotional tribute concert for broadcast later this year. We’re thrilled to offer WYCC members an exclusive price of $16 per ticket and seating will be assigned on the day of the performance, based on availability on the main floor. This is an opportunity to receive a significant discount on tickets, but please note that we are not able to accommodate specific seating requests.

Prefer to pick your own seat? No problem! Full price tickets are available as well. Just choose “Rush Seating” for the $16 seats or “Assigned Seating” for full price and you may choose your own seats.

Concert Info

Our shared experiences as Americans unite us in way that lead to different expressions by each of us—some are inspired to create music, while others serve in the military. Some do both, like Vietnam Veteran James “Kimo” Williams, whose music offers a unique tribute to our service members. Photographs of those who have served, submitted by Sinfonietta patrons, musicians, and staff will accompany this incredibly moving performance.

Experience America through the eyes of two others—one native son, Charles Ives, offers an unusual, lush version of our unofficial national song, America, followed by Antonín Dvořák’s New World Symphony, embodying the spirit of America through the eyes of an immigrant. This is a program for everyone with pride in America, pride in our service men and women, and pride in shared struggles and triumphs.

This concert will be video recorded and air on WYCC PBS Chicago.
